FDAMH Managing Menopause and Help with Hormones
Course Dates:
Course 1 - 9th January – 30th January 2025
Course 2 – 6th March – 27th March 2025
12pm – 2pm for all sessions
Many women, of all ages, can be impacted by our fluctuating female hormones. Far from being a mild inconvenience that we can grit our teeth against and “get on with”, the decline and change of our hormones (whether due to perimenopause, menopause, conditions such as endometriosis or medical interventions/treatment) can have a debilitating, invasive and painful impact on our daily lives.
As well as the physical symptoms we may be feeling, we can also experience upsetting “brain fog” and “rollercoaster” emotions, including heightened anxiety. When we don’t understand why this is happening, or that they’re caused by our declining hormones, we imagine the worst and the increased worry makes things seem unmanageable. Many women struggle to manage their symptoms in the workplace.
FDAMH (Falkirk’s Mental Health Association) are pleased to be able to provide Managing Menopause and Help with Hormones courses to women in the Stirling area who are struggling with their physical and mental/psychological symptoms and would like some information and support with this.
The aim of these courses is to provide information on the range of symptoms women may experience, many of which may not be recognised as being a symptom of hormone changes. As well as learning about the impact on our bodies, the courses also deals with the psychological impact such as increased anxiety, low mood, brain fog, emotional reactivity and reduced self-esteem and provides a range of techniques to manage these difficult thoughts, feelings and fears.
Please note, we do focus on just the physical and psychological symptoms and leave the medical input, treatment and HRT to the wonderful staff at FV Fertility and Menopause Services. The groups are small and friendly and there is great value in the peer support and sharing of similar experiences that happens throughout the course too. As dire as menopause can sometimes feel, there is always lots of laughter during the sessions. Well, you’ve gotta laugh, eh?!.......
