If you are thinking about becoming a volunteer or are looking for new volunteering opportunities, we are here to help.
You can drop in to our Information Service in Friars Street where we have over 250 opportunities that offer a wide range of activities that suit your interests, your availability and your preferred level of commitment. Our friendly information staff are on hand to have a chat with you and will be able to recommend a selection of opportunities for you to browse and consider.
We can also give you advice on how to get started, what to expect and we can help you get in touch with organisations if you would like us to.
We offer a range of services to support organisations to recruit and manage volunteers and improve the volunteering experience for everyone.
We will display your posters, information leaflets flyers etc at our Drop In, and hand these out to prospective volunteers. We invite you to register your volunteering opportunities with us by completing a simple form. Opportunities we register through MILO will automatically be publicised on the Volunteer Scotland website, and we can publicise them further in our eBulletin.
SVE offers individual consultation and advice as well as training courses in volunteer management and related topics. We can support some organisations that involve volunteers through the PVG process, helping reduce their amount of administration. Volunteer Managers' Forums are run three to four times per year, and anyone who organises the work of volunteers, either in a paid or unpaid capacity, is welcome to attend. Dates are published on our website.
Other events include volunteer recruitment fairs and the Volunteers Week and Awards Ceremony, where every year we have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the important contribution our volunteers make to society.
