SVE is based in the city of Stirling, and supports the Third Sector (voluntary, community and social economy organisations) throughout the Stirling Council area. Our office is in Livilands Stirling.
We provide support for voluntary organisations, social enterprises and volunteers in many areas, including funding advice, organisational structure, volunteer management, charity law compliance and representation on Community Planning Partnerships.
We are a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. We are committed to equal opportunities and to making our services relevant and accessible to all local organisations.
Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise is governed by a Board of Directors -
Susan Fullerton - Chair
Susan has had a passion for the voluntary sector, which she became involved with in 2003, and her work in the sector has evolved since then. She has undertaken a wide variety of volunteer and paid roles including time with Aberlour, Dyslexia Scotland, Make a Wish Foundation, Anthony Nolan Trust and PLUS, where she has worked on and off since 2006, before becoming CEO in 2012.
Susan joined the SVE board in 2014 and understands how important it is for the local third sector in Stirling to be connected and well represented.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler, cooking, baking and eating good food! When not baking her own wedding cake or pushing through a Metafit class, she can be found climbing a Munro or camping around Scotland.
Mark Aspinwall - Treasurer
Mark is a financial controller at AG Barr plc, the company that makes, markets, and sells some of the UK's best loved soft drinks brands. He is a chartered accountant. His previous roles have been with one of the Big Four accountancy firms and with HM Revenue and Customs.
Mark moved to Stirling from Glasgow two years ago. He joined SVE after sitting on the board of Glasgow based The Arches', one of Europe's leading cultural venues.
Outside of work and SVE Mark plays the guitar ("badly"), enjoys mountain biking and reads quite a bit.
Rachel came to Stirling from her home town of Edinburgh in 1996 to study Social Work at University of Stirling and following the completion of degree decided to make Stirling her home where she lives with her two children. Rachel has a great interest in children and child development and has worked in this field since she was 16 years old. She is currently Manager at Home-Start Stirling a charity that supports local families with young children. Working in the Third Sector in Stirling for 6 years she can see the importance of bringing the network together and working in partnership.
Outside work Rachel mostly spends time with her two boys enjoying family life. But she also has a great love of cooking and enjoys spending an afternoon baking cakes and other tasty treats.
